Comment tout a commencé
Foundation and Origins (2009–2012)

The legal structure behind the restaurant, the company, was established in the spring of 2009. This marked the official start of the project.

The Concept

The restaurant is designed as the ‘little brother’ of the well-known Nantes establishment Inde et Vous. The vision is led by Joji Augustin, originally from Kerala (South India). His goal is to bring specific regional flavours to Nantes (such as Kerala beef and southern spices), thus distinguishing himself from the more classic North Indian cuisine found in France.

Birth of Curry House (2013)

2010: The restaurant opens its doors at 11 Rue de la Juiverie, in the historic Bouffay district, a stone’s throw from the Château des Ducs de Bretagne.

2015–2018

The restaurant is cementing its reputation as a sure bet in the Bouffay neighbourhood. It is becoming famous for signature dishes such as Butter Chicken and Lamb Beigan Hyderabadi (lamb with aubergines).

Gault&Millau listing

The restaurant gains culinary credibility when it is listed in the prestigious Gault&Millau guide. The guide highlights it as an ‘authentic’ establishment combining the traditions of northern and southern India.
